Our communities and churches are filled with hurting people. It was out of this need that the Lay Counseling Ministry at Sunrise Community Church was born in 2001. This ministry is designed to meet the needs of those who do not require professional therapeutic care. Trained peer counselors work with individuals providing guidance and emotional support in a confidential and safe environment. Counseling is available free of charge to people within our congregation and the community at large in an individual, time-limited format (usually 6-10 sessions) with a same-sex counselor.

Sunrise also collaborates with licensed professional counselors who provide private-pay counseling to adults and families on a variety of issues. We would be happy to offer you a referral.
